My Homemade Face Wash

OK. I NEVER thought that I would actually MAKE my own face wash. But when I sat down to make out my goals for this year I decided to give it a try.

Now, I did tweak this recipe. I found MANY, MANY different ones and wanted to just try something simple before I went out and spent money on it. Some of the recipes call for Castor oil, which is something I don't keep in the house, because I have no idea what to use it for. There were other recipes that called for just olive oil (or some other oil like sunflower and such) but I like a little bit of a scrub type face wash. So I used EVOO and SUGAR! I made it a little more liquid than scrub because I don't want to scrub my skin off, ya know?! I mixed it in a Rubbermaid container with a screw on lid and I keep it in my shower just like that.

When I take my shower I just scoop a little out and wash my face and neck thoroughly and then rinse. Yes, your skin might feel really oily afterwards but I promise it won't after you pat dry your face. I do tend to have dryer skin than most so you may have to mix it with the Castor oil if you have oily skin ( I really don't know, I'm just guessing here!)

The conclusion?! I LOVE it. My skin is brighter, younger looking, smoother, softer. I even have less acne! All of the stuff you want from a face wash! I will never go back to commercial face wash. I actually ran out of my mixture the other day and forgot to make some more before showering so I used some store bought face wash that my husband uses. Let me tell you! That was a mistake! My skin was red, extremely dry, and it HURT! I couldn't believe it! So I tried a different soap the next day and the same thing! See why I will never go back?! Plus it is a GREAT make up remover. A lot of people actually do this at night before bed and then just rinse their face while in the shower. Whatever your preference.

OK your turn go try it! Or do you have any other recipe's or homemade beauty products? Leave a comment!
